A Mantra For Your Everyday During Self-Iso

Here’s a little mantra I’ve been telling myself lately:

I am free from worry and my mind is peaceful and focused.

Expectations of yourself, pressure to be somewhere in your life, doing something or achieving some higher goal? Oh yes. Join the club. I think I signed up well before COVID-19 came along. Let’s just say he made things a little trickier.

Take me, exhibit A: I told myself all this self-isolation meant I could finally lock down and finish writing a book, start a vlog, do yoga tutorials, guided meditation… and maybe throw in an e-book or course in there as well. Oh and definitely double the blog posts and instagram stories.

Fast forward to scrolling on instagram and tracking every influencer’s book idea, video, guided meditation or yoga tutorial.

Instant overwhelm. Where to begin? What must be done first?

It’s already been done. Hurry, hurry, hurry.

But in all these feelings of overwhelm, I tried something new : I repeated the above line over and over again. These are hard times, and we’re all doing the best we can.

You’re doing the best you can.

Whatever it is you’ve been holding onto with a death-like grip, here’s a reminder to let it go.

Even for the day. Just one day.

I know in these times we might be feeling the pressure to get some big goal achieved. Write that book, deliver that course, film that tutorial, finish that vlog. Yes, these things are awesome, and if you can do them, definitely do them. You may help someone, a group of people, heck a whole community.

But for the rest of us :

Let. That. Shit. Go.

Cause it feels so damn good when you just let yourself be, even for a day.

(And let that day be Sunday/Monday, damn it! 💪🏼).

I needed a reminder, so here’s one for you. You’re welcome
